Q:After importing a DVD into DVD Ripper program, there are so many titles with chapters listed in the program. How could I know which titles should I select to convert?
A:Commonly, the main movie is contained in the title with the largest file size and longest duration, which you could find in the list too. Also, in order to find the right title, you could select a title to preview it first.
Q:Where is the output file?
A:To find the ripped file, you can press the button of "Open" to open Output folder where you can locate the file. Also, you can set another folder to save output file as you like, by pressing the button in front of Open button.
Q:How to clear file list or check all the files to convert?
A:To clear file list, please press the button of Edit on the top menu bar, then you can find Uncheck All, Check All and Clear options.
Q:here are many output options in the format list. But I just want to backup my favorite DVDs in my Mac. So could you please tell me what the best format I should choose? I hope that I can get output files in better quality as well as in proper file size. It should not be too large.
A: If you only want to watch the output files on your Mac, you'd better select "DivX or AVI" as output format, which will provide better output video quality and smaller output size. And you can play the file directly by VLC Player, a free program.
Q:I want to name the output files in my own way. Can I do it in your program before I start the conversion job?
A:Of course you can. Before you click "Convert" button to start ripping, you should check on the item, chapter or title, and then enter the name for your output file in the "File name" box which is above the preview window.
Q:After my DVD is ripped, I noticed that the output file is not in the exact audio track and subtitle I want. How can I set those options?
A:After your DVD is loaded into the program, you can select the proper audio track option and subtitle option on the top of the preview window. All the audio and subtitle options that your DVD includes will be displayed in the corresponding lists so that you can select what you need before the conversion job.
Q: I just want to get a small clip of my DVD. How can I do it?
A:After your DVD is loaded into the program, please check on the item that you want to convert. And then, please click the "Trim" button in the program. In the following dialog-box, video trim, you can preview the movie content you have selected. Dragging the Start Time slider to set the start time, and dragging the End Time slider to set the finish time. After the setting is done, click "OK" to confirm. At last, click the "Convert" button to get the clip you want.
Q:I found many similar format options in the list, such as several ones for iPod and several ones for iPhone. What are their differences?
A:Actually, different formats that we have offered represent different output qualities. For most of formats, you can notice the different default settings on Video Size ("Estimated Size" on the top left interface) and Video Bit Rate (Click "Setting" besides the format box to see the Bit Rate). Generally, the higher values you set for those two items, the better qualities and the larger output file size you will get after the conversion.
Q:My original DVD is a 16:9 one. But after the conversion, I got a 4:3 file. Can I keep the original aspect?
A:Yes. Before you start ripping, please check on the item that you want to convert. And then click "Crop" on the top of the interface. Select "Keep original" in the Zoom box.
Q:Is it possible to change the path where the snapshot is to be saved during the preview? And what should I do?
A:Please press the folder button under the preview window to change the path where the snapshot is to be saved.
