23 Powerful bookmarklets for your iPhone
Bookmarklets are little pieces of Javascript code that can be saved as ordinary bookmarks in your web browser. They enhance your browsing experience by giving you super-instant access to useful tools and special functionality.
To use, just drag the links into Safari's Bookmarks Bar and synch them to your iPhone via iTunes. Next, bring up the Bookmarks Bar folder on your iPhone and simply tap the bookmarklet you want to use.
Functionality
1. Find in this page. This really should be built-in to the iPhone: the ability to find a word or phrase on the current page. Results are in bold and highlighted in yellow directly on page. (Now works in both Safari 2 and 3)
2. Open links in new window. Makes links appear in new windows when you tap on them.
3. Find similar sites. Gets a list of similar sites via similicio.us
4. Display all images. View all images on the current page in a new window
5. List all links. Takes all links from the current page and lists them in a new window

6. Dictionary. Look up a word on Dictionary.com
7. Thesaurus. Find synonyms for a word on Thesaurus.com

More
18. Search mobile.answers.com. I look up a lot of definitions and ideas while prepping to teach my Lit classes. So this one is a life saver. Bonus feature, prepend your search term with a "$" symbol to open the search in a new window.
19.Look up Bible Passage. Same as above, only this one will send you to the mobile ESV Bible. Again, prepend search query with a "$" symbol to have open the bible in a new window.
20.Change font size. I read several books online, most of them aren't formatted for the iPhone, so the font size is too small and there are no columns to zoom in on. So this will pop up a prompt asking you for a font size. You can type in any CSS rule to be applied to the Body tag. It doesn't work in every situation, and it seems to have an upper limit on most pages of about 2em's or 30px. Your milage may vary.
21.0Bare Bones. This little gem I wrote myself and basically prompts the user for a web site address. Once that's gathered, it passes the address through Google and returns a lighter version of the web site. This is especially great when using GPRS/Edge as the data connection is slower. Hopefully this will be retired when the 3G iPhone comes out :-)
22.Bare Bonsify. In the same vein as the Bare Bones bookmarklet, this one will convert all links on any web site to return a light version of the linked web site.
23.iTransgromify. The clever bookmarklet will analyse a web page and convert any links to YouTube flash video to return the .H264 encoded equivalent which can then be played straight on the iPhone!
