How to put DVD and Videos to Zune on Mac?
Zune is a brand of digital media players and services sold by Microsoft. It includes portable media players, Zune Software which includes the Zune Marketplace providing online music, videos, podcast, and channel sections. The primary competitors are Apple iTunes, iPod classic and iPod nano. The devices come in two styles, all of which play music, videos, podcasts, display images, and receive (but not record) FM radio.
Zune's native file compatible formats are:
- JPEG for images;
- WMV is supported on all models, and MPEG-4 and H.264 are supported for video on all models except the Zune 30. The MPEG-4 and H.264 formats are automatically transcoded to WMV by the Zune software when syncing to a Zune 30;
- MP3, AAC (.m4a), Zune Marketplace (restricted and DRM free), WMA Pro (2-channel), WMA Standard, WMA lossless for audio.
And Mac users nowadays are likely storing many video clips in their hard disk. However, because of the screen size and the video sources, they may need to convert the videos on Mac before importing their clips to Zune.
For this reason and if you are one of such users and want to play movies on Microsoft Zune, you need to convert the video first. You can use iMedia Converter for Mac. It can convert DVD and Videos such as MP4, FLV, AVI, VOB, 3GP, 3G2, MOV, M4V, MPG(MPEG), TS, TRP, MTS, M2TS, TP, DAT, MKV, WMV, MOD, ASF to Zune (.MP4) with fast speed and high quality. You can also use iMedia Converter to extract audio from DVD and Videos to Zune (.MP3) on Mac.
Then you can transfer Zune (.MP4) to Zune on Mac. Here are 3 methods:
- 1. You can use parallels. Here are two tutorials:
a. Zune on Mac using Parallels
b. Use Your Zune On A Mac - 2. Through a hack called XNJB (though it seems the the only thing it can do is display the contents of the Zune, not modify it in any way)
- 3. You can also try Windows Media Player for Mac.
Your computer probably already has that. Just search your computer for it. Or go to microsoft.com and download it.
Open windows media player and add folder to your windows media player library. Add the converted Zune (.MP4) and Zune (.MP3) to windows media player. Then connect your zune and sync it which will also allow you to just drop the songs and videos you want into a box in the right hand side and sync that music and videos onto your zune.
